This year’s annual District 5150 Conference was held in Reno, Nevada on May 17-19, 2019 along with three other Rotary districts; hence, it was called the Rotary 4-Way Fest and brought in over 800 attendees. Our Club was well represented at the Conference by Cecile Chiquette, Jeanne-Marie Cresalia, David and Dora Dye, Laine Hendricks, Heidi Kuhn, Mary Liu, Lynn Luckow, Donna-Lee Rubin, Eric and Stephanie Schmautz and their daughters, Molly and Katie, and Anita Stangl.

Laine, as Chief of Staff to District Governor Jayne Hulbert, served as one of the hosts, entertainers, and presenters.

On Friday night, Laine and Mary were two of the winners in the poker tournament.

In the House of Friendship, members of our Club occupied three booths: Cecile, Mary, and Anita for Alliance for Smiles; Heidi and Jeanne-Marie for Roots of Peace; and Donna-Lee for Rotaplast.

At our own District 5150 Celebration and Business Meeting on Saturday afternoon, our Club earned the following awards: Public Image, Club Administration, Membership, Community Service, Youth Service, Vocational Service and International Service.

The biggest surprise was the announcement of District Rotarian of the Year. The winners were David Dye for his leadership and dedication to RYLA and Lynn Luckow for his work with youth in the District. Congratulations to both!
