On Wednesday, September 14, 2022, our Club's Vocational Services Committee held its first networking event to kick off the year! The event was a Champagne Tasting with champagne from Chandon donated by Jason Nyeh, a start-up founder, and snacks and truffles provided by Trader Joe’s.
Club members who participated were CJ Albano, Jenny Campbell, Mary Liu, Wendy Shew, and Ozan Yasavur. Joining them were guests, bringing the attendance to 15 and professions in real estate, banking, life insurance, education, and engineering.
President Christopher Wiseman (Nonprofit Management | Glaucoma Research Foundation) called the meeting to order and shared some historical facts about the San Francisco Police Department.

Today's Visiting Rotarians were District Governor Nominee and Chief of Staff Steve Wright from the Rotary Club of Pacifica, Carrie Chinn and Rick Chinn from the Rotary Club of Millbrae, Julia Spark from the Rotary Club of Busselton-Geographe Bay in Australia, Marilyn Becklehimer from the Rotary Club of San Francisco Sunset, and Rey Naik from the Rotary Club of San Francisco Evening. Maureen O'Shea (Governmental Relations | Retired) introduced her guests: Catherine Liang (our reigning Miss California), Daniel Riley, Debra Leylegian, Robert Beedle, and Torrance Bynum. Luis Moran (Real Estate: Sales | Coldwell Banker) introduced his guest, Blaire Jahn. Other guests were Carrie Shucker, Jackie Herrin, Guadalupe Valenzuela, Lilli Milton, Sergeant Vic Lee, and today's speaker - San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott.
Action Leadership Program with Students (ALPS)students Presley, Emma, and Mirabelle led a successful book drive for the Jefferson Elementary School District in Daly City. The goal was to collect used and unwanted children's books and redistribute them to a place in need.
Drivers needed to pick up pre-packaged meals at The Arc San Francisco and deliver to individual residences of Arc participants who are experiencing food insecurity. Exact directions will be provided when you pick up the meals. Hand delivery of meals must occur between 4 PM and 5:30 PM in advance of the Monday Night Dinner Club with Friends Like Me via Zoom to be held on the first and third Monday of each month.

You are invited to our First Annual Rotary Fashion Show and Friend Raiser. In addition to the glitz, fine food, and fellowship, there will also be door prizes. This is an afternoon that you will not want to miss. Please note that this event is in person only and begins at 11 AM.
