LUNCHEON MEETING HIGHLIGHTS August 30, 2022:  District Governor Gary Chow's Visit
President Christopher Wiseman (Nonprofit Management | Glaucoma Research Foundation) called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone attending via Zoom or in person inside the Carmel Room of the Hotel Nikko.
 
Visiting Rotarians and Guests
Today's Visiting Rotarians were District Governor Gary Chow from the Rotary Club of South San Francisco and District Governor Nominee and Chief of Staff Steve Wright from the Rotary Club of Pacifica. Attending in his capacity as Assistant Governor was David Dye (Management Consulting | Retired). Our guest today was Zara Rowbotham.

In honor of the Labor Day holiday weekend, there is no Rotary Luncheon on September 6, 2022. Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
Baby Showers for Homeless Prenatal Program: September 7, 2022
Join us at one or both of the Baby Showers at the Homeless Prenatal Program where we will give expectant mothers diaper bags filled with supplies. The party for Spanish speakers starts at 10 AM; the party for English speakers starts at 1:00 PM. Registration is limited to two Rotarians at each shower. Mask and on-site COVID test required.
 
 
Gathering for New and Prospective Members: September 8, 2022
Meet up with Club leaders over drinks and appetizers. Hear about upcoming projects and events. Enjoy new friends and good conversation. Several officers of the Club will also be on hand to meet you and answer your questions.
SERVICE PROJECT September 12, 2022: Delivering Meals for The Arc San Francisco
Drivers needed to pick up pre-packaged meals at The Arc San Francisco and deliver to individual residences of Arc participants who are experiencing food insecurity. Exact directions will be provided when you pick up the meals. Hand delivery of meals must occur between 4 PM and 5:30 PM in advance of the Monday Night Dinner Club with Friends Like Me via Zoom to be held on the first and third Monday of each month.

President Malinda Monterrosa of the Rotary Club of Los Angeles will co-lead today's meeting with our own President Christopher. She will discuss the history of the Rotary Club of Los Angeles as well as its service projects and goals for the year.

San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott joins us to talk about public safety and to answer any questions or concerns that our audience has regarding public safety in our City.
 
 
SERVICE PROJECT September 23, 2022: Catholic Charities and assembling and distributing school supplies
Please join us to assemble school supplies and distribute to youth at Catholic Charities' Maureen and Craig Sullivan Youth Center. The event is limited to 10 volunteers. Register early!
 
CLUB SOCIAL September 24, 2022: Conservation discussion and tour of the BayEcotarium
Join us for a discussion about the current state of our oceans and the BayEcotarium's conservation efforts around the world with the President and CEO, George Jacob. The afternoon includes the conservation presentation, light bites and non-alcoholic beverages, and the opportunity to enjoy an optional self-guided tour of the aquarium. All Rotarians, guests, and their kids/families are welcome.
