October 2021 Board Highlights
Rotary Club of San Francisco
The Club Board met on October 26, 2021; President Mary Liu called the meeting via Zoom to order at 12 noon. In attendance were President Mary Liu, Christopher Wiseman, Gary Dales, Nancy Graydon, Casey Blair, Sunny Singh, Lisa Christian, J.T. Forbus, Miranti Ojong, Ed Shenkan, Bob Hermann and Stacey Poole, constituting a quorum. Brian Lan and Michael Petricca were absent. Dan Joraanstad was present, representing the San Francisco Rotary Foundation (SFRF). Non-Board members in attendance were Jenny Campbell, Jeff Lerner, and Marc Johnson.

At the Up and Up Away with EREY Gala
On November 20, 2021, Rotary District 5150 held its annual The Rotary Foundation (TRF) Gala at the Green Hills Country Club in Millbrae, California. The Gala was in person, but one could attend virtually as well. It was also the first occasion to dress to impress since the start of the pandemic. And dressed in their finest from the Rotary Club of San Francisco were President Mary Liu, Bob Hermann, Dan Joraanstad, David Dye, Dora Dye, Frank Yoke, Heidi Kuhn, Cecile Chiquette, Eric Schmautz and Stephanie Schmautz and their daughters Molly and Katie. Also from our Club was District Governor-Elect Nominee Laine Hendricks who served as emcee for the evening.

Members in the News: December 2021
Charlotte Mailliard Shultz was a member of the Rotary Club of San Francisco from November 1, 1987 until she passed away on December 3, 2021. She was the Chief of Protocol for the state of California and the Chief of Protocol for the City and County of San Francisco. Charlotte was married to former United States Secretary of State George P. Shultz from 1997 until his death earlier this year. We join the community in mourning her loss and appreciate her many contributions to the City and County of San Francisco.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing: December 10, 2021
This year, the kettles, cans, and bells will once again “invade and overtake” Union Square. Join your fellow Rotarians and some of San Francisco's finest celebrities to ring bells, spread holiday cheer, and raise awareness for The Salvation Army and its Kettle Program.

ROTARY CLIMATE ACTION NETWORK December 16, 2021: After Glasgow COP26: Where are we NOW?

The RCAT Network Global Forum presents a three-person panel moderated by local Rotarian Gary H. White and focused on Glasgow to help us understand the commitments countries made at COP26 so that we can hold them to their promises. Advanced registration required.
