On August 30, 2022, Rotarians met at the warehouse of Hoogasian Flowers to generously stuff 60 backpacks with adorable and top quality clothing and items for newborns of mothers taking classes at the HPP. Many thanks to Harold Hoogasian for offering his warehouse space to assemble the backpacks. Harold also generously donated his own time to deliver the backpacks to the HPP.

On September 7, 2022, Club members Victoria Lozano and Robin Azevedo respectively attended the morning and early afternoon baby showers at the HPP building where a dozen expectant mothers were honored. Each of these mothers received one of the Rotary backpacks and other baby items; each was recognized for completing the HPP prenatal classes.

On September 20, 2022, our Club will host and honor two HPP representatives at our Tuesday luncheon and present a grant check to HPP to support its fine work. And we’ll have an opportunity to hear a bit about pre- and post-natal services this group provides to new mothers in our community. As Martha Ryan, Founder of HPP, well knows: "It takes a team to make things happen." Rotary is proud to play a part on the HPP team.

If you missed this backpack stuffing or baby shower, check Grindings for the next one. The backpack stuffing and baby showers take place every quarter.
