Interested in serving our Community? RotaCare Northern Peninsula Free Medical Clinic is seeking long-term volunteers. Ideally, a volunteer commits to working in person one to two times per month over a period of at least six months. Here are the current openings:

1. Front Desk Volunteers: Non-licensed volunteers are needed on site to help with screening people for COVID as they enter the clinic building and with registering patients as they arrive for their appointments. Volunteers will be trained how to use AthenaHealth, an electronic medical record system.

2. Spanish interpreters: Spanish interpreters can volunteer remotely and are needed on an on-call basis. NOTE: AthenaHealth training is not required for interpreters.

3. Licensed volunteers:
  • RNs and EMTs are needed on site to assist with patient intake. Intake involves recording a patient's vital signs and documenting the reason for the visit as well as a brief medical history.
  • MDs, NPs, and PAs are needed on site for patient consultation, diagnosis, and treatment.
NOTE: All licensed volunteers must have a current license to practice in California and must be in good standing.

Application: All on-site, clinic volunteers must complete an application online, provide proof of COVID vaccine(s) and at least one booster, proof of negative TB test taken within the past six months, and proof of seasonal flu vaccine. Clinic volunteers must also attend a brief volunteer orientation. For more information on applying to volunteer at RotaCare, please click here. You may also contact Regina Cruz, Clinic Operations Manager or Emily Borland, our incoming Vice President of Community Service. The clinic is housed inside the Mike Nevin Health Center, and the address is: 380 90th Street, Daly City, CA 94015.
