ROTARY CLUB OF SAN FRANCISCO
President JT Forbus called the Board meeting via Zoom to order at 4:04 p.m. on October 27, 2020. The entire Board was present. Also in attendance was past president Rhonda Poppen.
 
President JT announced that the signed Sister Agreement with the Rotary Club of Shanghai had been placed in today’s Board materials. The Board briefly discussed the history between our Club and the Rotary Club of Shanghai and the significance of this Agreement.
 
CLUB ADMINISTRATION
Minutes:  The Board reviewed and approved the minutes for September 29, 2020 prepared by Dora. A discussion followed on how detailed the minutes published in Grindings should be. Members are reminded that they are welcome to attend the Board meetings. Another suggestion was for the Club President to write a monthly message to the membership for publication in Grindings.
 
Treasurer’s Report:  The Board reviewed and approved the Treasurer’s Report as of October 27, 2020 prepared by Gary. A discussion followed on the status of two of our corporate members.
 
ACTION LEADERSHIP PROGRAM WITH STUDENTS (ALPS)
David gave an update on ALPS and asked the Board to identify which metrics should be monitored. The Board recommended using the ALPS metrics established by Michael Petricca to measure the trends in the current ALPS program.
 
NEW MEMBERS
The Board considered and approved Katie Cooney and Lesya Pishchevskaya for membership in our Club.

ROTARY SERVICE, INC.
The Board of Rotary Service, Inc. met on October 27, 2020; the entire Board was present. Also in attendance was past president John Mathers. The Board reviewed and approved the minutes for September 29, 2020 and the Treasurer’s Report as of October 27, 2020.
 
ROTARY CLIMATE ACTION TEAM (RCAT)’S REQUEST FOR FUNDING
Past President John Mathers described the continued growth and expansion of RCAT and requested $1,500 to cover the changes needed on the RCAT website. The Board approved this request.
 
ROOTS OF PEACE/VIETNAM GLOBAL GRANT
President JT led a discussion on the history and status of this Global Grant. Dora documented the discussion and drafted a story about the resolution of this grant for publication in Grindings. The story was published in the November 15, 2020 issue of Grindings. See here for the story.  
 
50/50 CAMPAIGN
A question was asked whether a donation to purchase hygiene kits could be considered a credit toward the 50/50 Campaign. The answer was “no” as a payment for hygiene kits cannot earn TRF points.
