Over 45 Rotarians and guests from throughout District 5150 joined our Club's May 28, 2020 Educational Series to hear from incoming District Governor Mary Bates and incoming District Governor-elect Danielle Lallement. Also in the audience was District Governor-elect Nominee Gary Chow. Our President-elect JT Forbus introduced both speakers and welcomed everyone.

The meeting began in remembrance of Frank Devlyn, 2000-2001 Rotary International President. Frank had passed away from an illness the day before.

Incoming District Governor Mary spoke of her plans to move the District forward after the interruptions and limitations caused by the pandemic. The District Assembly that was canceled in March will now be held in a virtual manner starting in June. DG Mary also shared her theme – Rotary Chosen Family that will be symbolized by a tree with 45 branches attached to three trunks. Each branch represents one of the 45 clubs in our District. She also talked about plans to produce a vocational directory and asked club members to update their classifications. [NOTE: A year ago, our Club did update all classifications, but we encourage our members to update their profile whenever there have been changes.]

Incoming District Governor-elect Danielle talked about her job as a frontline nurse and told us that staying at home was the best thing we all could do. She also added her comments on what we as Rotarians can do going forward.

The meeting ended with a question-and-answer session.

New sessions of the Educational Series will be posted soon for July 9 and July 23. Check back on www.sfrotary.com
