ROTARY CLUB OF SAN FRANCISCO
President JT Forbus called the Board meeting via Zoom to order at 4:04 p.m. The entire Board was present. Also in attendance were Lisa Christian, Dan Joraanstad representing the San Francisco Rotary Foundation, and Past President Rhonda Poppen. Dora, Secretary, recorded the minutes.
 
CLUB ADMINISTRATION
Minutes: The Board reviewed and approved the minutes for February 23, 2021 prepared by Dora. 
 
District 5150 Awards for Club Excellence 2020-2021 Rotary Year: Dora reviewed the results of these Awards for our Club in 2020-2021 and announced that she would be submitting these results to Rotary District 5150.
 
Treasurer’s Report:  Gary discussed the highlights of the balance sheet and the statement of operations as of February 28, 2021 and for the eight months then ended. The Board approved the Treasurer's Report.
 
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Board members were asked to read the Committee Reports. Unless there were questions, there would be no discussion on these reports.
 
ROTARACT
David gave the Board an update on the status of the Rotaract Club at San Francisco State University and at the University of San Francisco. Our Club will soon co-sponsor a new Rotaract Club at SF State with the Rotary Club of San Francisco West. Our Club already co-sponsors the Rotaract Club at the University of San Francisco with the Rotary Club of San Francisco Chinatown.
 
BYLAWS COMMITTEE
Gary gave an update on the progress of this Committee and announced that a draft of the Bylaws had been prepared. He would outline what changes were made at our next Board meeting.
 
INTERNATIONAL SERVICE COMMITTEE CHAIR
Jessica Hansen had resigned from the Board.
 
BOARD DISCUSSION ON OUR CLUB’S CULTURE vs. OUR MEMBERS’ NEEDS
Terry provided membership feedback on how we could better serve and retain our members.
 
BOARD VACANCIES
Mary announced several Board vacancies and who had offered to fill these vacancies.
 
STATEMENT AGAINST ASIAN HATE
Mary asked the Board to be on the lookout for a Statement Against Asian Hate. The goal was to have every president and president-elect from a Rotary Club in San Francisco sign this statement.
 
MEMBERSHIP
Terry presented the application of Jeff Lerner, Matthew Madsen, Karen Sommerich, and Andrés Vera for consideration. The Board considered and approved all four candidates.
 
Terry also gave an update on the upcoming Family Feud game hosted by the Membership Committee.
 
The meeting was adjourned at 5:31 p.m.
 
ROTARY SERVICE, INC.
The Board of Trustees of Rotary Service, Inc. met on March 30, 2021. The entire Board was present. Also in attendance were Lisa Christian of the Rotary Club of San Francisco and Dan Joraanstad representing the San Francisco Rotary Foundation. Dora, Secretary, recorded the minutes.
 
Minutes: The Trustees reviewed and approved the minutes for February 23, 2021.
 
Treasurer’s Report: Gary discussed the highlights of the balance sheet and the statement of operations as of February 28, 2021 and for the eight months then ended. He gave an update on the funds raised at the ALPS Gala and with the 50/50 Campaign. The Trustees approved the Treasurer's Report.
 
GRANTS REVIEW COMMITTEE
Mary announced that a Doodle had been circulated to determine the date for the first meeting of this Committee.
