Super Bowl Party and Pool
President Casey also thanked Lilian Tsi-Stielstra (Insurance Services | Retired) and her husband, Scott, for hosting the Club Super Bowl Party again. At the Party, David Dye (Management Consulting | Retired) was the lone fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. At today's luncheon, President Casey recognized David for his bravery in a house full of 49er fans by presenting David with a KC chiefs apron and chef's hat. - Dan Joraanstad (Financial Services: Advising | Retired) and Bob Hermann (Information Technology: Administration | Retired) who reported on their recent participation as volunteers on a surgical mission to Egypt with Alliance for Smiles ("AfS"). The medical team performed free cleft palate and cleft lip surgeries on children. The next AfS surgical mission will be in June to Honduras.
- Tim Hornbecker (Non-Profit Management | Retired) reported that his daughter completed her fifth and final chemo treatment.
Guest Speaker for today was Randall Scott, CEO of the Fisherman’s Wharf Community Benefit District (“CBD”). He explained the differences between a CBD and a “Benefit Improvement District” (“BID”). Randall then discussed the progress being made by the Fisherman’s Wharf CBD to improve cleanliness of the area and to make it safer and more attractive to both locals and tourists. The CBD is funded by store and property owners in the Fisherman’s Wharf area, and the funds collected are used to supplement services provided by the City of San Francisco.
