Rick HarrellToday's Speaker
Scott Plakun (Management Consulting | The Plakun Group) introduced today's speaker, Rick Harrell (Arts Therapy | Heroes' Voices). Rick is a member of our Club and the Director of Heroes’ Voices. He has spent over 25 years teaching, creating musical events and providing performance opportunities for singers on three continents at many institutions. Rick shared some video clips showing how music elevated the mood of humans and in two cases, even brought people back to life. The video showing the effect of music on a patient with Parkinsonian gait was amazing; the patient while listening to music was able to walk to the beat of the music, sing along, and even dance. President JT thanked Rick and announced that 100 children would be inoculated against polio in his name.
