Karina Alvarado MendozaMeet Karina Alvarado Mendoza
Karina talked about her personal journey in finding meaning for her life. She sought out opportunities for community service beginning in her high school. She wanted to start a leadership and service club and was told that her high school already had one in the form of Interact. She joined the club, ultimately became club president, and got the club involved in a variety of projects relating to the environment. She helped initiate water projects in Africa and South America as well as participated in local community service. She attended a weeklong RYLA camp experience. After graduating high school, Karina began attending San Francisco State University (SFSU) in the fall of 2020. There, she immediately began looking for a Rotaract club to join. Last year, David Dye (Management Consulting | Retired) began working with her to start a new club. She has recruited over 20 individuals interested in being part of this new club and is in the final steps of getting the documents together to get the Rotaract club of SFSU certified by Rotary International.
