I have been newly appointed as Rotary District 5150 Endowment/Major Gifts Chair or EMG for short. I appreciate the opportunity to serve with the District Leadership Team and to start what will probably be a three-year term. In my role, I will help the many generous donors in our District to realize their goals in giving to The Rotary Foundation (TRF).

Consider how generous District 5150 Rotarians have been this year in their gifts. Our Districtwide goal of $1 million to TRF for the fiscal year has already been exceeded - $1.2 million has been given. District Governor Danielle Lallement’s new mid-year goal is to reach $2 million for TRF by June 30, 2022. It is a joy to consider the good work which these dollars unleash across the world, our country, and our own District.

In my first meeting with the District Leadership Team, a few points came up which I thought that you would find interesting:
  • First, DG Danielle invites you to send photos of Club events to her and Chief of Staff Jenny Bates for inclusion in District communications. Also, send information about major Club events to DG Danielle and Jenny for publicity and posting on the District calendar.
  • If you know someone who is interested in helping the District with social media, please let DG Danielle know.
For the 13th year running, TRF has been given the coveted 4-Star rating by Charity Navigator. It’s the highest rating with 100 out of 100 possible points. When you make a gift to TRF, you know that TRF has accountability for its work, TRF is efficient, and TRF has an effective governance structure and many other metrics defined by Charity Navigator. I am proud to be associated with such an outstanding organization.
