August 30, 2022 Board Highlights
Rotary Club of San Francisco
President Christopher Wiseman called the August 30, 2022 Board meeting to order at 10:47 AM. Stacey Poole, Secretary, recorded the minutes.
Attendees in person or on Zoom included President Christopher, Gary Dales, Sunny Singh, Wendy Shew, Frank Yoke, Margaret Miley, Jeff Lerner, Maureen O’Shea, Emily Borland, Mary Liu, Brian Lan, and Stacey Poole, constituting a quorum. Absent was Lisa Christian. Club member JT Forbus also attended the meeting.
Our special guest was District Governor Gary Chow. Accompanying the District Governor was Assistant Governor David Dye. DG Gary discussed his vision and goals with the Board.
Due to DG Gary’s visit, the Board business was limited to approving the 2021-22 Fiscal Year financial statements. The 2021-22 year ended with an approximate $5,000 deficit, which was better than what was originally budgeted. President Christopher also gave an update on the budget for the current Rotary year; he had budgeted for a breakeven budget for the 2022-23 year.
The Club meeting was adjourned at 11:13 AM.

In attendance were President Christopher, Gary Dales, Sunny Singh, Wendy Shew, Frank Yoke, Margaret Miley, Jeff Lerner, Maureen O’Shea, Emily Borland, Mary Liu, JT Forbus, Brian Lan, and Stacey Poole, constituting a quorum. Lisa Christian was absent. District Governor Gary Chow and Assistant Governor David Dye from Rotary District 5150 also attended this meeting.
The Board of Trustees reviewed and approved the 2021-22 Fiscal Year financial statements.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:52 AM.
September 27, 2022 Board Highlights

President Christopher Wiseman called the September 27, 2022 Board meeting via Zoom to order at 4:01 PM. Stacey Poole, Secretary, recorded the minutes.
Attendees included President Christopher, Gary Dales, Sunny Singh, Wendy Shew, Frank Yoke, Margaret Miley, Lisa Christian, Maureen O’Shea, Emily Borland, Mary Liu, Brian Lan, and Stacey Poole, constituting a quorum. Absent was Jeff Lerner. Club members JT Forbus, CJ Albano, Dan Davies, and Scott Plakun also attended the meeting.
The Board approved the July 26, 2022 Board minutes.
Fleet Week and Blue Angels Viewing Party: President Christopher gave an update on this event and announced that pre-stamped postcards would be available for our Rotarians to mail to family and friends.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Scott Plakun gave a recap of the work that the DEI committee had been doing for the last several years. A discussion followed as to the value of creating a DEI position on the Board. A motion was made and approved to create the DEI position on the Board. A second motion was made and approved to appoint Scott Plakun as the first Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. His appointment is through June 2024. Scott is also co-chairing the DEI Committee at the District level.
Shanghai Sister Agreement: The Board approved the renewal of the Shanghai Sister Agreement and discussed the value that our Club gets from having such a relationship.
Equity Membership: Vice President of Membership Margaret Miley and Vice President of DEI Scott Plakun proposed an equity membership option for those who may be financially precluded from joining our Club. Margaret and Scott will draft a written proposal for the Board's consideration.
